The Queens Platinum Jubilee!

At The Enchanted Wood we celebrated the Queens jubilee with an afternoon tea garden party with some delicious scones and party games. We made flags and decorated our garden ready for our party. We had a lovely time with all our friends to celebrate Queen Elizabeth becoming the first British monarch in history to achieve Platinum Jubilee – 70 years of reign and service.

All of our photographs are captured by our brilliant photographer Danielle Flanders, who is also one of our Nursery Parents.

For the second year in a row Jade our Bunnies Room Leader recieved star baker for her delicious lotus and chocolate orange cookie cups! Well Done Jade!!

Easter Bonnet Competition!

The whole nursery took part in making their own Easter Bonnets! The children made their own bonnets at home with their families and brought them in for the parade. Each room took turns to parade their bonnets around the garden. We had four winners and four runner up prizes, however they were all absolutely amazing!

Employee of the term – Alyssa!

Well done to Alyssa – our Hedgehogs practitioner who won our overall employee of the term. Alyssa is a fantastic long serving member of our team and always goes above and beyond in her role. Alyssa has been in every single day and always has a smile on her face. We are so lucky to have you!

Thank you also to one of our amazing parents for contributing to the gift!

Curiosity Approach inspiration.

Families are able to follow the Curiosity Approach at home by involving children in the everyday running of the household. Children can be encouraged to help prepare meals, press buttons on equipment such as washing machines and telephones as well as supporting with home maintenance such as sweeping a floor or recycling empty packaging. All of the above allows children the skills they needs to practically succeed in life.

Provide children with a range of loose parts to explore and upcycled materials to allow children to explore using their senses and imagination. Children can build and create enchanting story lines without a toy being just one thing.

Give children real resources rather than play resources to allow them to explore the weight and texture of treasure like resources. Allow children to explore with awe and wonder and recognise those moment of deep-rooted exploration.

Allow children to explore the outdoor natural world as much as possible. Take regular walks, collect natural items and have family time outside exploring all weathers.

Upload all special wow moments onto the Tapestry app and have a hand in hand approach with the nursery to share children’s play and knowledge and celebrate achievements together.
