About us

A little about us…

The Enchanted Wood Day Nursery Ltd is a non-profitable charitable organisation. The Nursery is overseen by a Committee which is formed of the Nursery Managers, Parents from the Nursery, Members of the Community, and led by three Directors.

Here at The Enchanted Wood Day Nursery we provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for children aged 3 months-5 years.

Our ‘Mission Statement’

We are passionately committed to ensuring that we  provide a nurturing, inspirational, stimulating and secure environment for every child at The Enchanted Wood Day Nursery.

We aspire to be a positive contribution to the lives of all our children and their families regardless of their religion, ethnic or cultural background or any individual additional needs.  Providing opportunities for all children to make excellent individual progress in relation to their starting points in the seven areas of learning, giving each child the confidence they need to grow, explore, show curiosity and sharing experiences with their peers. This is vital in preparing them for primary school or the next stage in their learning.

The first five years in a child’s life are crucial in setting the foundations for their future. It is paramount that the children in our care feel safe, secure and happy.

At The Enchanted Wood the children learn through many different types of play and gain an insight into the world in which we live. All our Early Years Practitioners are dedicated to ensuring that strong partnerships are formed with all families. Together as a team built with healthy parenting and high quality learning we can provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow and develop. During their time at our Nursery the children experience social interaction with others, develop encouraging friendships and future life skills.

Parent and Carer Feedback

‘Every happy memory created for a child is another treasure of a lifetime.’

Parents and Carers are encouraged to be actively involved in the nursery as much as possible.  We feel that communication is a vital aspect of the children’s care, which incorporates the EYFS Parents as Partners. We welcome all parent feedback, comments and suggestions…

Extra Curricular Activities

We actively encourage all children to be healthy with a range of physical activities throughout every day, however we do also offer extended activities for your child to take part in.

Please note that these sessions are an additional small cost.

Mini Stars

Mini Stars is a fun, musical, drama filled active class which encourages and teaches children to sing songs, play percussion instruments, learn actions, dance, explore rhythm and join in with some drama and role-play. Most importantly children have lots of fun, with lots of opportunities for laughter and play.  The aim of Mini Stars is to encourage and enhance a child’s interest in music, movement and drama by introducing them to a range of varied activities. Mini Stars also aims to increase a child’s confidence, co-operation and concentration in a fun and enjoyable way. Mini Stars classes are led by Katie Pendrigh, a former parent and qualified Music and Drama Teacher.  Katie has been familiar with the nursery and all staff for several years and the children adore her. Katie has expanded her Mini Stars venture holding other classes within the local community.
